Biological and Biomolecular
Label Chemistry

Research in the Rentmeister group focuses on RNA at the interface of chemistry and biochemistry. We aim to understand and control the processes governing mRNA expression and turnover. To address these problems, we develop chemical and chemo-enzymatic tools for manipulation, analysis, and control of mRNA. Our methods include chemical and chemo-enzymatic approaches, allowing us to choose the best strategy. We implement these modifications in living human cells and in vivo. Our group covers in RNA chemical biology, cofactor, and protein engineering.

A great article about our research on click chemistry and bioorthogonal methods!

Many thanks to LMU for the excellent coverage. Exciting to see our work on molecular tools and cellular processes featured and highlighted in this way!
